About the Potter

Hi, My name is Liz Johnson and i am the owner and developer of Earth cut pottery. My interest in clay started when I was in high School, in 2007 i was accepted to the New Hampshire Institute of Art. During my time in college My department was invited to attend the  International Society for Ceramic Art Education and Exchange semi-Annual symposium at The Tokyo University of Art in Japan, this was an amazing and eye opening experience!. through the rest of my college career I volunteered at a few local high School and Taught a couple lessons to advanced art classes. Before i had graduated From the institute i was invited to work for a local NH production Pottery company. In the spring of 2012 I received my bachelor of Fine Art. by then I was working full-time at the production company where I spent over 5 years disciplining my hands. From there i tried teaching for several years at studio 550 in Manchester NH, where i was surrounded by great staff and students making it a wonderful learning community. somewhere between making production pottery and Teaching i started my own small company where i currently work out of my personal studio in East Hampstead NH.
